Wow! Just found this and am deeply saddened. Jerry, Roger Johnson and I toured and recorded with Tom Snow, just before they hopped on the Sanford Townsend express. Jerry was as solid as his playing, as wild and free as he was quiet. So many memories. Hauling through Kansas, the Buffalo Award. Being the only two white guys stupid enough to think we'd actually land a gig with Bill Withers. A wonderful man and a rich life.

I had one of the first versions of Stormvision - his software for video assist.  I remember when I was ordering the system, Jerry and Shari were incredibly helpful and patient with me.  Since I live in Houston, we would spend some of the time on the phone talking about Texas.  Needless to say, Jerry was always there to help me when I had questions or support issues.  It was the little things that meant so much to me - like getting a film can on Christmas full of candy.  It showed me that they cared about me as a person, not just a client.  It has been about 10 years and I am still using the original version of Stormvision today.  I was looking at the newer versions when I found out that Jerry had passed.  I can attest to the fact that he will be missed by everyone he has helped in the film world, but for me he will never be forgotten.

I just sadly learned of Jerry's passing...we played hardball together for 6 years...mostly as pitcher and catcher together. I left the team to move my family to Austin, Texas...and never saw him again. I deeply regret that we did not stay in touch. As talented and fiercely competitive as he was on the field, he was also the most lighthearted and funniest in the dugout. May God bless you, and keep you close.

I joined the Sanford Townsend Band when they were getting ready to record their last record for Warner Bros. I feel blessed to have had the experience and to have been part of the band, and have great memories of Jerry. He had a wonderful feel and was a real deep pocket player. I'll never forget getting in his VW and going to eat Mexican food after rehearsal, and just hanging out and living it up. He had a great vibe and was a very giving person. He is missed.

Greetings.. I am related to Jerry and Larry as a "Blood Cousin". WE played together, swam the tanks, etc. as youngsters in the 1950's and 60's. My Dad Calvin Rightmer, was a brother to Jerry's father Carl Rightmer .Jerry from the beginning ,had the aggressiveness  as an achiever. Most of our ancestors were musicians , origionally from Bavaria and Switzerland. Jerry's grandfather, William Charlrs Rightmer, was a professional Square Dance caller and singer. Also, his great grandfather, Aberam Page Rightmer was a fine fiddle player.  Moreover, Jerry's Uncle Calvin Virgil Rightmer, was a professional lead guitar player and belonged to the Fort Worth Professional Musicians Union. Jerry's mother, Ruby Nell, was one of the sweetest persons that anyone could ever know. Uncle Carl, his father, was a fiesty individual and on occasion, played a harmonica and dabbled in amateur photography/film -making.  My last personal encounter with Jerry & Larry Rightmer was at Tarrant County Junior College as fellow students in  1969-1971.  Ovealll, I have been an opera singer, honky tonk drummer, polka band drummer/singer around West, and a gospel singer throughout Texas. Jerry and Larry were fine men, and I will cherish my memories with them. Dan Rightmer -Jefferson, Texas....
